Computers, WiFi, Copy, Fax, & Scan

Available at the Minden Library

Computer users agree to abide by our Computer and Internet Use Policy.

Patrons that wish to check out electronic devices must fill out a Mobile Device Agreement.

Internet Stations
Internet terminals are available free of charge. A current library card and password are required. Temporary guest passes are issued at the front desk for area visitors; please bring a photo ID. 

These stations offer either 60-minute or 15-minute sessions. They may be used for a maximum of 120 minutes per person per day. Internet terminals also offer the following Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Files may be printed, saved to USB flash drive, or emailed.

Word Processors
The library has computer terminals offering the following Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. They are available free of charge, on a first-come, first-served basis. Internet access is not available from the word processing terminals.

Files may be printed or saved to USB flash drive.

Printing
Various printing options are available from the public terminals, with charges as follows:

B&W Letter $ .10/page

Legal $ .15/page

11x17 $ .20/page
COLOR Letter $ .50/page

Legal $ .75/page

Wireless Hotspot
The library provides free Wi-Fi access during regular library hours. Ask at the front desk for the name and key code needed to connect. The wireless network shuts down 15 minutes before closing time.

Printing from the wireless network is available. Instructions are available at the Library.

Photocopying / Scanning / Faxing
The library has a public photocopier, with charges as follows:

B&W Letter $ .10/page

Legal $ .15/page

11x17 $ .20/page

Color copies are not available. 

Scanning to a USB drive is available on the photocopier for free.

A self-service public fax/scan is available. The voice-automated step-by-step instructions help users send faxes/scans. The library cannot receive faxes. Credit and debit cards from Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover are accepted for payment. Fees are as follows:

  • Domestic fax (USA, Canada, and Caribbean): 1st page: $1.75, Subsequent pages: $1.00
  • International fax: 1st page: $3.95; Subsequent pages: $3.45

Typewriter
A typewriter is available for public use.

Children's Computers:
  • An Early Literacy Station features reading and math programs for ages 3 to 7 years.
  • A Student Learning Center computers offer educational programs for ages 6 to 12 years.
The software titles on these computers are carefully chosen for age appropriateness, educational and entertainment value, and ease of use.
